Congratulations to MeetRoyale Social Network, located in Rockwood, Michigan, for being named in the Top 100 for 2014 Home-Based 100 Business Winners and in the Top 10 of the “Savviest in Social Media and Boomers Back in Business” Categories. We caught up with business owner and entrepreneur Liesa Reese and asked her to answer some questions and share some words of advice and inspiration with our StartupNation audience.

Tell Us About Your Journey

StartupNation: What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
Liesa: Learning something new and exciting every day/ seeking ways to assist others whom have dreams.

StartupNation: To what do you attribute your success as an entrepreneur and business owner?
Liesa: Never settling. Fighting for what we know we can accomplish together.

StartupNation: What ignited the spark in you to start/select your particular business as an entrepreneur?
Liesa: Jesus Christ and I’m proud to say that. The ideas that go through my head on a daily, I know we couldn’t do this without HIM.

StartupNation: What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Liesa: Stay calm, welcome criticism and use it to work on weak areas, never think of your idea as a bad one. Test it before throwing it away. It may be your ticket to success.

Words of Wisdom – Inspiration for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

StartupNation: If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Liesa: Believe in your dream. GOD gives us all this blessing. Whatever your desires are and it’s so strong, you cannot contain yourself is because this is your calling. Follow your calling. You’ll know when you’re close because they’ll be trials and tribulations that will make you feel like you are wasting your time and should give up. DON’T LISTEN! Stay strong.

Inspiration

StartupNation: Where do you find your greatest inspiration?
Liesa: Jesus Christ and in kids of this day and age. So many fighting for an education to have a normal life.

StartupNation: What is your favorite motivational/business quote as an entrepreneur?
Liesa: No time for procrastinating.

StartupNation: A motto you live by?
Liesa: The Best is Yet to Come!

Tell Us About Your Business, Experiences, & Funding Your Startup

StartupNation: How did you get funding for your startup?
Liesa: We work jobs. Paycheck to paycheck jobs. We scrape what we can together and we keep building on that. We will never give up on Operation Smiles. This mission is a must do. We cannot let GOD and these children down. We hope to get sponsors or someone who will fund us. We intend to keep fighting, one day the right people will notice us, we’re hopeful.

StartupNation: Recommendations for others starting out?
Liesa: Stay focused. Spend at least 30 minutes daily on your project.

Marketing and Building Their Customer Base

StartupNation: How do you market and build your customer base?
Liesa: Social Networks are so very supportive and affiliate programs.

StartupNation: Recommendations for others starting out?
Liesa: Share your information about your business to all social networks that will allow it. Most networks welcome you because you will be helping to promote them as well.

Changes in the Business Market

StartupNation: What changes have you seen in your business market since starting?
Liesa: Numbers going up and then down again, and up again. We’re new. People need to get used to new. They’re beginning to stay.

StartupNation: What do you see coming that will impact your business?
Liesa: Promotions, giving away free stuff. Doing and promoting fresh, new things other social networks don’t have.

StartupNation: Have a funny story about a client or business transaction that you want to share along with a key lesson learned?
Liesa: Unfortunately, none that I can think of off hand. I’m sure in the near future we’ll have something for you.

MeetRoyale Social Network was founded by Mr. Adegoke Fatal (CEO/FOUNDER) – Born and raised in Ondo the state of Nigeria, West Africa Adegoke grew up with six healthy brothers and sisters all loved and nurtured by wonderful parents in a healthy environment. He attended UTE High School where he graduated then went on to Lagos State Polytechnic where he studied Civil Engineering for two years. Furthering his education, he studied Desktop Publishing in Computer Operations. While in pursuance of becoming a world inventor, Mr. Fatai reached further into his dreams and attended Blazux technologies Training Center where he studied a website training course and is presently a Certified Web Designer. Adegoke is now using his earned education knowledge and skills to communicate with the world globally bringing people together from all walks of life. We proudly bring and welcome you to MeetRoyale.

Miss Liesa Reese(CO-FOUNDER/PRESIDENT) was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan by her beautiful grandmother and step-Grandfather.She also grew up with six brothers and sisters. Liesa attended Jeffries Elementary, Hunter Middle School, Southwestern High School and Graduated River Rouge High School. She had two sons. She had dreams, but raising her two beautiful sons were her priority over self. She attended Taylor Total Living Center where she received her certification for Nursing Assistant. She was dedicated for 25 yrs. During this time she had other dreams and ambitions. She has a homemade chicken potpie which made the finals in Startupnation and is presently working on an idea that has been presented to reputable companies. These companies have all offered Miss Reese proposals. But, Liesa decided taking on partners would be best. She asked a friend who is an investor for help. At the time, her friend had money tied in other investments. So, he introduced Liesa to Mr. Adegoke and there they developed a friendship first, then later decided they would work together on MeetRoyale. Although Liesa never attended college, her skills and talents are naturally gifted by God. Jesus didn’t go to college, but he taught.

Mr. Andres DeJesus(VICE-PRESIDENT/PROMOTER) was born in beautiful Puerto Rico by wonderful, strong-willed parents. Although Puerto Rico is a beautiful island. Andres’ parents loved him so much they wanted him to have more opportunities as he would grow older. So, they came to the United States when he was just four yrs. old where he and his five beautiful siblings were raised. After moving to Michigan, Mr. DeJesus attended Albion Elementary, Albion Middle School and finally Albion High School where he graduated with honors. Before and during his school years Mr. DeJesus developed a tremendous passion for music. Wherever he heard music he would tap on anything durable and sing along. At age 11, his dad bought him his first set of congas’ percussion drums. He then discovered his true passion for music. He played with a friend Curry and the Jiles families whom were neighbors and good friends. He was 15 yrs. old when he started his first DJ gig. He was so great, he was invited to a famous radio station for an interview where he started a real DJ job in his early 20’s. He worked with students in Albion public schools giving back to the community. He volunteered for two yrs. at Albion School systems working with kids running track/coaching. Mr. Andres has the heart, soul and passion to give, give, give. That is why he is the perfect fit for MeetRoyale Social Network. We are honored and privileged to have him on our team and in our lives. He is truly a great asset. We are blessed with this remarkable man.
