Unlocked Apple iPhone sells on eBay for $1500

Since a 17 year-old New Jersey kid figured out how to unlock the iPhone to work on any service carrier, not just AT&T (watch the YouTube video that has been viewed almost 600,000 times), people are popping up everywhere trying to leverage the situation for all it's worth, and what better place to do so than eBay?

eBay retailers are now offering the ready-to-go, unlocked iPhones to buyers, and of course, people are eating this stuff up. The method for unlocking this is spreading, but in the meantime, cell users who want the convenience of having an unlocked iPhone ready to go are paying big bucks on ebay, $1500 to be exact.

Check out this eBay auction, which is just one example. This is a great example of taking advantage of a current trend and putting a twist on a well-known commodity to earn a profit.
