Hi everybody,

I`m new to the community, actually this is my first post :) So why not start here and show you my business background. Check out the site and you`ll get an idea in what business I am in.

Let me know what do you think about the site and the service.

Btw. I`ve been listening to many podcasts of Startup Nation so far and I have to say that this is a great community I`m glad to be a part of.

Hi, This is a nice idea and I like the design.

However there were some formatting issues as I entered the chatroom and unfortunately, I seemed to be the only one there.

Some more information about the advertising options would be good too.

mond... I just wanted to make a comment about your post, more so than your site. I checked out the site for a brief moment. Long enough to realize your business revolves around chat features on a website.

Maybe I am a little grumpy today, nonetheless, as a business owner you only have about a minute to convince someone to become involved in your business, or to even look at your site.

I think you said, “Check out the site and you`ll get an idea in what business I am in.”

I think you said this as a “hook.” It’s a one liner to entice someone (me) to view or become involved/interested in your business. Let me say, listening to just those words did not persuade me to look into your business. I really just wanted to pass your post and go to the next.

I felt like, if you were not willing to take the time to type out a small statement about what I should expect from you or your business, then your business must not be important enough for me to visit.

Being as how this is the Startup Nation, and we are all hear to learn, I thought it best to follow your directions so I could make this comment.

I don’t know about how you inspire people to participate or buy into your business. But when I talk to people about my business I don’t just hand them my business card and say, “go take a look, and you’ll understand.” I actually take a little time to tell them what my business has to offer. Then, if they want to see or learn more, they always have my business card.

Really this is constructive criticism. I hope you take it as such.

Now, about you business. It seems you are an online chat system. That’s great, but could you tell me why I should start using GeesSee instead of Yahoo IM or AOL’s online system? How many people are subscribed? Can I still communicate with my other IM buddies, or is this a situation where I will find new buddies?

Have a great day.

Hey Mond,

I think Vincent makes a good point.  I think people will be much more open to learning about your product if you just tell them about it and how it will fulfill a need they have.

That being said, I checked out the site and like what I see.  Could you tell us more details about it and the different benefits from using it?  I noticed there was an option where people can add chat to their own site.  How does this work?  Please tell us more.  I like the design too!

Hi

Thank you for all your comments.

Vincent is absolutely right. I should have written more about the business and I’m gonna do it now. Btw. I was trying to find some “Introduce yourself” section in forums, but no luck. I’m gonna suggest that later on.

We offer centralized cross-site chat. Everyone can add it to his/her site for free by pasting few lines of code into the HTML code of the site or blog. Chatters using Geesee connect to a huge community of chatters. They can search chat rooms by tags or room name directly inside any chat on any site. They can create their rooms as well. This way they easily find people to talk to about their interest.

This bring a working chat to any site, even if you have less visitors. If you have only one visitor a day that want to chat he can use Geesee to access all other users in Geesee network.

I bet startup nation may use something like this on the site to allow the members to discuss things live. I got to talk to them about this J.

We are out 9 days so far and have mostly good feedback so far. We came with the main communication core and are adding features based on user feedback and input. Don’t be surprised if you don’t find anybody online, we have our chat deployed only on 180 site yet, but increasing everyday. They are mostly small sites but with more features, bigger sites will come.

Please let me know if you have any questions. You can always find more information at www.geesee.com or at http://blog.geeesee.com.
