Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site.  A friend and I recently launched a site called http://www.monkeyscoop.com.  This is an online community that lets users post reviews, feedback and information about daycare and other child related businesses like extracurricular activities, healthcare providers (i.e. pediatricians, etc.).

Our goal is to promote exchange of information in order to give parents access to valuable information-- the experience of other parents-- when making decisions related to childcare. 

I would appreciate any comments or feedback.  Also any thoughts on how to spread the word about this valuable resource.

What does "restaurants" mean with child care services?
I`m assuming kids meal deals?

I`m supposing a restaurant would be one where parents can eat and talk while someone adult is caring for the kids.

I did a search, entered Illinois and for "keyword," had no idea. That should be better explained by example. So I put in "Batavia," where I live. There were no reviews found.

Instead of making me hit the back button, I`d like to see a link for "Search again," right there, so I can just re-search immediately.

I`d also like the search window to "remember" what I just put in. If I live in Batavia, IL, and don`t find daycare results, the likelihood that I`ll click to search for schools is high. But the likelihood that I`ll search AGAIN for Batavia, IL is overwhelming. For anyone who wants to search two different places, they can then spend the effort to re-select their state and keywords.

Under "Reviews," I don`t understand why I get a duplicate of the category section to the far left? I already SEE the categories. So when I click "Reviews," I`d like to see actual reviews in my immediate next step....OR...some reason to make another selection.

And, of course, I`m brought back to the same search button. That got really old, really fast. There`s gotta be some better logic, right?

Thank you everyone for your most helpful and insightful comments.  I will address these issues with the programmer.  I have had a lot of comments regarding the restaurants-- it is just supposed to mean Kid Friendly Restaurants or any kind of restaurant were parents can have a good experience.

As the mother of an 18mo, I love the idea.

I think it`s a bit hard to judge the reviews because you don`t have many/any in there right now. Is there any review in there that you could point out?

I see the link for registration, but no explanation of what registration gets me. Am I just giving you my info for the fun of it?

I don`t like the chat thing at all. It seems like an IM application to me. Wouldn`t you be better off with a bulletin board system like Vanilla?

The front page seems like it has a lot of words.

I see "submit a review" in the wording, but no where to actually do that ...
Otherwise I would have submitted some reviews to seed your listings!

I liked it too! Great idea. I registered but was unable to add any reveiews or go to a forum which I believe was mentioned. Nikole has a great suggestion for a bbs. If you tell us how to review or add a listing, i also would be glad to review atleast 2 my daughter has and is attending. Great work...and who doesn`t love monkeys!!
