I agree, it did take a little extra time to load.  I think it may be the flash running.

I feel on the main page, #3 is a little confusing when you read it.  The instruction to gear threw me off.

I really like the idea and concept though!

The loading issue must be an individual problem, as it loaded very quickly for me. However, if a couple of people are having loading issues, then you can easily estimate that thousands of potential guests are in the same boat ... see if you can't speed that up.

I love how you can navigate to any page and always find a link back to the home page ... it drives me crazy when I have to go backwards through several pages to get back home.

The colours are engaging - good job there.

Don't resign yourself to connecting only with Facebook - there are thousands of other social medias you can connect to that will help drive traffic back to your site.

mbrown, your page loaded fast for me too. I like your website, the color and the layout. If I were to add something, it would be an extra feed, perhaps at the top. WHat I mean is like a twitter feed or your facebook feed, where any comments and updates are being RSS, and the content moves. The reason I suggest this is, your website is about action. And I felt the page itself can use some more action.

The other thing, I would make your footer's height smaller. It is nice that you don't have a long webpage, and there is no much scrolling to do. But your footer, which only contians the copyright notice, is much longer than it needs. That should be an easy change.
