Your trade secrets can be as valuable as other forms of intellectual property.  If the trade secrets are worth anything, you must take reasonable steps to preserve them.

Was this really a trade secret, or rather an original design idea? From what I read, it seems the latter.

judgment as a matter of law (JMOL) on the trade secret claim was affirmed - there was no evidence to support plaintiff`s argument that it took reasonable steps to preserve the secrecy of the design in question.
