I`m a little tired and a bit wobbly so if this rant is crazy just ignore it.

it is almost 10pm on wednesday I`ve spent the weekend in the workshop making orders for wholesale customers, spent Monday delivering them, and the rest of the week making new orders from the same customers. up at 4:00 am work until 6:00am then off to the full time gig some 40 miles away, get back at 5:30 pm or so then work past 9:00 pm in the shop, have dinner and then bed. weekends start at 5:00 am until way past 9:00pm.

the busy season is still 6 weeks away.

so I was thinking tonight as I worked "what are you doing? is this really what you want?" well the answer is you bet, I can`t wait to work from 4 in the morning till 9 in the night just doing this.

my next thought was "where is the energy coming from?" best guess at this point is pure passion, I am staying focused and on track, why I think is because of passion (it could also be because I`ve missed a bunch of sleep).

the question; anyone else just pushing on from passion?

It seems at best I am about to become a lurker ( a couple weeks away when the full time gig ends), read a few posts and get some sleep, so until slower times I wish you all success and peace.

 I agree Stan, you have to push on,..... from `passion`. Passion, dreams, and goals, keep us going,. Oh, yeah., success, and, ....money, too?! :)

still searching for more sales, things are getting a bit overwhelming. it feels like it`s right on the edge and I need to push it on, just how many hats can one person wear?

this site is so cool, like craig said I have learned so much in (what i consider) such a short time you all have been great for me, should have paid more attention in class( although that was so long ago it might not be relevent today)

I decided today I will allow at least 15 minutes a day to visit this site, it`ll be my quiet time alone ( a bourbon a day keeps the stress away).

anyway thanks again.

and craig I always am willing to buy a round, sometimes two! now flying to the mid-west, that is a whole other subject, maybe in the fall before the snow, and after the "sketers".

I may have found my first employee, I am pretty sure I need one. I have been kind of looking for a foreman type that doesn`t mind getting their hands dirty and willing to work for not much money, then as a bonus I think they should be 110% behind my products.

last night (riddled with guilt) I went to play darts at the local moose (i`m a member and on a team and it is playoff`s, by the way we won so next week is the championship) well one of the guys on my team is retired and looking for something to do for the spring and summer, we have been talking all season, he really seems to be genuinely interested in woodworking. he is a retired foreman so the management thing should be easy to transistion, and is willing to work for next to nothing. He is going to "try out" in a couple weeks as the "temp" crew comes on board.

I almost don`t feel guilty not being in the workshop those few hours ( I did get 1 1/2 hours in before the games).

Just a thought here but I think right now it is "life balance" tempered by "cash flow". I have to do all the tasks myself  `cause I can`t afford to hire it out, but that is ok (for now).

more good news signed two more retail outlets this week, and the "greater Philadelphia" home show is in two weeks, so things are looking more exciting.

 

I`ll keep lurking and check back from time to time.

 

I think your signiture formula might have some merit  (Success = Passion, Patience, Persistence!) heavy on the passion and persistence, the patience part is bitter and hard to swallow.
