Hello everyone! I am new to Startupnation and have a lot to read about on here. I'm here of course to get my site critiqued. Here is a little info on why we created it. Me and 2 other partners started up an e-commerce site selling sd cards and readers(yea I know another site like this Tongue out). We believe there is great potential in this market as many new devices is sd compatible. We try to make our prices competitive to the big dogs and bring great customer service. We have a ticket submission that allows customers to send us questions and we can respond. We also stated that if a customer has a question about compatibility issues they can ask us and we will research it for them. I guess that is our competitive advantage in a way.

Well my website is www.sdcards4cheap.com

Any opinions both positive and negative is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Matt.

Site is very nice looking.  Easy and intuitive to navigate.  My only concern is the same as yours - how you stick out in the crowd.

If you could add bold to the subheadings on your product pages, it would help a customer who is scanning the description to quickly get an overview.

Best regards,

Hi Matt,

You are selling a very simple device.  Very little failure rate with these items.  I would therefore rewrite your exchange and retun policy.  Concider these issues.

1.    Reduce the length of time the customer has to contact you about their purchase.  The customer should know within a few days of receiving the product if there is a problem.  Figure a 8 days shipping time tops in the US.  That would mean they should be ale to contact you with in two weeks.  Standard concept here is the longer the customer has the product, the more likely they are to damage it.

2.   No returns, period, on opened packages.  Again, your looking at the posibility of damage done by the customer.  Plus, as some people have discovered, the customer could have a virus on their computer that causes your devise to fail.  You take it back and plut it into your computer.  Guess what, now you have a virus.

3.   Not only state your policy on the web site, but on the customer's invoice and or packing slip.   This way, the customer can not claim they did not know  your policy.  Believe me, I've been through this with some people.

 4.   As far as a customer's claim that your devise was defective, state in your policy that the customer is to call tech (custoemr) support.  The service tech will then make the determination if the devise can be returned.
