That sounds like a great plan particularly if you have something that will make yours unique.  The first step to any business is going to be your business plan which will be an outline of your entire business.  In it you will have market research as well as basic business research.  It is also what you will take to potential lenders and investors when you get started.

As for actually starting you will need to obtain a location, register your business, obtain the correct licenses and permits, research check cashing operations, etc.

How far along are you in the process?  Is it just and idea or are you ready to make a move?  I specialize in small business start up and expansion so if you need help or just someone to bounce ideas off of let me know.

In Ohio, they have tried to regulate "payday loan" places, which are sometimes also "check cashing" places out of business.  The reason is that fees are viewed as outrageous.

Hi there,
I`ve written an e-book on the subject. Go to www.checkcashingbusiness.net and download it. There is a fee, however, I`m confident you`d love my book, because it`ll give you everything you`re looking for. Take my word-I`ve opened a NEW check cashing business myself, operated it for almost 5 years and SOLD (not closed!) to anothe person who runs another 9 of them. My book is NOT a useless theory (like others outhere), it contains PRACTICAL and STEP-BY-STEP advice. Trust me, I`n not trying to SELL you the book, just directing you to the right source of information.
