Hey mscott,
Here are a couple of ideas:
First of all (obviously), make sure that your list is aware and has given you permission to send them the email.
Second of all, make sure you have a good title to your email. Think in your prospect’s point of view… if you were the person receiving the email, what would you open? What would you trash? Would you be more willing to open the email if it had your name in the title? Maybe even put the main benefit to your customers on the title… something like that. The point is, you have to get the reader to open the message in the first place.
Try to not make it a total sales email. People don’t like to read an email that’s a total sales pitch. I know I probably wouldn’t read it. So make the chunk of your email something informational. Give some value to customers. Teach them something, or tell them something interesting, or give them something that will help them. I would say make ¾ or even 4/5 of the email pure value with information that they would enjoy to reading. At the end, offer your services.
Maybe you can give tell them of something new that has come up in your industry. Have there been any innovations in the software that you teach lately? Maybe you can communicate your info as a story; stories are always interesting to read. If you cant think of anything brows around on the search engines. I’m sure you can find valuable information (relating to your services) that your customers would appreciate receiving.
At the end of your email, offer your services. Make sure to put all the benefits, or the main ones to your offer. Ask for the sale or have them take some kind of action that you want them to take. Maybe you want them to call you, or email you to set up an appointment. Maybe direct them to your website if you have one so that they can get more information.
Have an incentive for them to get your services NOW. Can you offer a limited time coupon? Can you offer discounts if couples or someone and a friend sign up? I would probably ad a limited time offer to have them take action NOW rather than later.
Ok those are a couple of ideas. Hope that helps! Best of luck!
Length: don’t make it too long. Make it brief and to the point. Use small paragraphs with not-to-long sentences.
