The more
research I do, particularly with my background of having a published
and successful book, the more I`ve pondered this. Your question is
basically, "How do I protect my ebook from being copied, then uploaded
for free by someone else?"
Here`s what I`m going to do. I don`t HAVE an ebook right now, so it`s
not going to be copied, stolen, ripped off, or robbed. :-) And so my
FIRST intent and call to action is: "Write a book!"
AFTER I`ve written an ebook, say about 20-25 pages, THEN I`ll worry
about how to get it published in such a way as to make some money, and
not have it ripped off. See?
I think we`re both putting the cart before the horse. Let`s write a
book first, then see how to get it into publishing format. From there
we`ll see what we come up with in terms of how much to make, say, 1,000
copy print run. I`ll bet the local MinuteMan Press would be happy to
work with me on that, for an affordable price.
But I also want to finance that hardcopy print run from money I make
from eBook downloads. And to do that, I have to have something to
download, right?
