Hello I`m new here too.  Like you Angel, I`ve read a lot of topics on these `Forums` too and find them both `interesting and helpful` too.  I`m a Photographer, trying to market `Myself` and Photos that I`ve taken.  I`m `OPEN` for suggestions to help get started and get marketed too .

Hello eveyone. I`m new too. I`m really enjoying  this forum. I am in a dilema and hope anyone can help. D.King have really been great giving me resources. I work for the State Government. I have about 10 more years to do. I want to by 5 years of my retirement so I can retire early. It`s costly, but I have cut corners to afford it. I am a single mother of 2 ages 10 and 12. They are very responsible kids. (just have to stay on them a little). I`m 41 years old. I want to go and complete my cosmetology school. and open up a hair salon/nails and massage palor. I also want to combine it with an upscale thrift store but no consignment. I will purchase items from customers/do closetouts/wholesale/clearance to keep stock of items. I find when you consign you are marking the prices up to high for the customers to purchase because you have to pay others. Right now my goal is the learn as much about running a business as I can before retirement. I have a 2-5 year goal plan to learn all the ends and outs. After my goal is complete I will be ready. I looking for land, commercial property all right now. Some stuff I would like to get within my goal plan so I won`t have too much finances overhead later. I have been waiting and wanting this for years. Now is my chance. Any suggestions? Also this business is going to be for my children to enjoy later in life(if they choose).

Thanks.

Jacquelynn

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and to the country as well. There are two things on my mind to do business here. America is a land of opportunity. I wish to try my luck too, but currently I am on dependent visa. There are many business ideas. I make a note of them, but have no clue where to start and how to go about it. I am starting to catch up on the threads in this forum. Here is what which has been

1. A magazine business. Although I have no prior experience in this domain, I am really interested to publish one. I am pondering on the question, why despite the Internet boom, lifestyle magazines still exist and people still buy it. I want to get some reliable answers to this question. Some direction in this regard would help me greatly. I am not sure how much I can share about the exact business here. But if there is any site / person /book that can help me, please direct.

2. I want to sell my husband`s photographs. He is more than an amateur photographer. Some of them have been appreciated by all his friends. Besides he wants to learn more. So if there is any popular community or means to sell his photographs please suggest.

I feel it`s ok to have tried and failed rather than not have tried at all. I have some time before hitting school 6 months actually. Is there anything I can do sitting home, as of now ?
Regards
SS

Hello petbuys and Welcome!  Personally my main reason for LLCing was protection.  If something ever happened to my business I didn`t want it to effect my personal stuff.

Hi everyone!

I am brand new to Startup Nation and very glad to be here! I just stumbled upon this site one day while I was sniffing around the web looking for ideas and info to continue to improve my business:  MarTeeny Designs (Mar for Marcy and Teeny because I`m petite) I started it as a side business and trying to grow it so one day I can make it my full-time gig. I am a Graphic Designer and I also offer printer consulting. (I`m starting to delve into photography too though I haven`t posted anything yet) I LOVE doing this. This site is great because it allows us likeminded individuals to network virtually and pass around ideas - keep us motivated. I look forward to talking more with some of you. Best of luck to you all!

Hi All -

I`m new to the site too and wanted to introduce myself.

I am enjoying the newsletters I have been receiving as well as the forums and the wealth of information on this site.  What a terrific resource!

My company is relatively new (1 year old) and is a one-stop shop for all your corporate identity/branding needs.  We provide all you need including your logo, website, business cards, letterhead and more - under one roof.

I hope to make new business contacts and friends here at startupnation.com as well as offer any advice I can in order for us all to help each other grow our businesses.

Hi Everyone!  We just joined the StartUpNation, and really like what I am seeing in the community between the support and suggestions.  We have been listening to the podcasts for sometime, and wow the information on this site is amazing.

My wife and I just opened www.TheLaughingLadybug.com for the chic babies, toddlers and their families.  Please take a look around and let us know what you think.

Does anyone have any suggestions on SEO or Pay Per Click advertisements?

Good Luck to Everyone,

Brian
