I started StableWise in 2000, originally to be a way for customers to hire me as a consultant for their horse property. The business was conceived as a way to advise horse owners in all aspects of horse farm planning, including designing, creating and maintaining horse property. I realized that it was not feasible to travel as much as this would have required, so the main focus became offering various barn plans to the StableWise website visitors. It does fairly well, and I have high hopes of nurturing this small idea into a much larger force in this highly competitive marketplace. It sounds a little weird, but I guess it is a marketplace, since people buy things that I have for sale.

The focus for growth needs to be additional barn designs, while making the entire website more useful to visitors, even if they don't want to buy a set of barn plans. That is how the site started, and I believe that is why I do as well as I do, because it is not just a sales pitch for barn plans. It is useful and informative in and of itself, and it will remain so.
