More about me:
As I was out networking and marketing my own copy writing and marketing business, I kept meeting people like myself; entrepreneurs who were starting a business at a time when people are usually building towards retirement. These were extremely talented people with exciting and varied business ideas.

Some were funding their dreams with early retirement or severance packages. Some were using time once needed to care for children to build their new careers. Others had re-evaluated their lives and decided working a job without passion is no longer enough. Still others were using their lifetime of accumulated skills, experience and contacts to benefit themselves, rather than a corporation.

Regardless of their reasons for starting a business, I began to notice a startling trend. Many of these entrepreneurs were struggling with marketing their businesses. They weren’t sure what they needed to do to attract enough customers. In some cases, marketing plain scared the pants off them.

They had great business ideas, the skills and experience to offer exceptional products and service, but they weren’t getting the customers.

And unlike 25-year-old entrepreneurs, baby boomers can’t afford to fail. With children starting university and retirement looming, baby boomers need to make their businesses a financial success.

This is why I decided to launch the Baby Boomer Entrepreneur. As a marketing consultant I could see the mistakes people were making. I have the knowledge to point them in the right direction; this blog is the vehicle that lets me do it.
