More about me:
My youngest son(22) and I just fell into this. I'm a retired(1998)Machinist Mate, Nuclear Submarines, USN. I thought I was done with mechanics when I retired. I was a Deputy Coroner, Deputy Sheriff, City Police Officer, and a Volunteer Firefighter, all at the same time, in Georgia. In May I moved to South Carolina and fell into odd jobs. People need good quality mechanical help. I'm currenty writing a Technical Manual for a Ferris wheel originally built in 1955, no one can find an original. I'm also repairing some very "poor" workmanship at a drive-in theater. It seems everyone needs a "good" diverse handyman. There's plenty of work, word of mouth works fast. Problem is I want to start this business "formally". The county courthouse said I didn't need a licence and I can't find any REAL information on starting a sole-proprietorship. Can you help?
Thanks to a couple of Starupnation's members I now have an EIN and I've filed to register my fictitious name (DBA). It's coming along. THANKS, BUT KEEP HELPING!!!
