More about me:
I'm currently part of the web team here at StartupNation. My experience covers web design, web development, usability, information architecture, and project management.
I began working on the web in 1997 when one of my best friends (fellow StartupNation community member 'Bfleming') started an online software company. Essentially, we were the world's leading seller of "spam" software. At the time, our intentions were much more nobile than where this industry ended up. Needless to say, we soon shifted our efforts towards opt-in products and other online ventures. We went through the sky-high ups from '97-'99 and got caught in the "Internet plummet" of 2000. These early years on the web taught me some valuable lessons and really helped shape my philosophies and strategies.
My one golden rule of building any internet application, website, and pretty much most products on or offline is, "Make it easy for the user to do what they came to do." I adhere to a strict user-centric strategy, both for the design and development, as well as in gauging what new features and functiality to offer our members. If you stick to this golden rule...you should be just fine.
I attempt to answer questions and jump in on forum topics as much as I'm able. Although it's a Catch22, in that the more incredible tools we are developing for YOU...the less time I have to live in the forums.
If there are any ideas you have for the StartupNation website, from new tools to design issues, please feel free to send me a message (using MyMessages) and we'll add it to the wish list.
