"Most content sites already have cross-platform deliverability with XML feeds, but many small business shopping sites do not." Maybe that statement holds your answer...how much business do you plan on getting from that segment of the market? How many people actually buy from handhelds or similar devices? Does the extra cost for development (money, time and effort) warrant the actual sales you`ll recieve or are your efforts better spent on traditional devices (i.e. laptops and desktops)? ...

Can`t you just hand-deliver it? The user calls you up and asks you to send them a Web page? I mean....newspapers do that, right?

I was talking with another SUN member today about platforms ... and that poses an interesting line of thought for website planning as well.
