Great info Connie,

Brings me back to the reply I just submitted to the learning lessons thread.

"You don`t know, what you don`t know, if you don`t  know,  you don`t  know it."    took me serveral times of hearing it and thinking about it before i really understood the message.  But then my dad  started saying that to my when I was knee high to a grasshopper.   Looks much easier writen down,  hmm,,  maybe  it`s just because  I understand it already .

As much Investigating I`ve done trying to learn about the business community I never ran across vertual assistance.

This is huge..  you have no idea the different thoughts/ideas that are running  though my head right now.  I have to go check it out

thanks Mike..

Lucky for you, you have a wealth of virtual professionals who are willing and able to help. We are mostly referred to as Virtual Assistants, but our specialties vary depending on our experience.

Connie,  thanks for bringing up the information about virtual assistants. I was not familiar with that organization and I think that a lot of us here could use a helping hand when needed and not every waking moment throughout every day.

I`ve often wondered when we would hire full time desk help for our business, but now I`m considering that perhaps we would be better off with a VA`s skillset. I`m really curious now. I`m going to continue to research the topic some more.

I was wondering if you could give an example of a typical day in the life of a professional Virtual Assistant?

Thanks!

~Eric

I want to start a business.  One that I could outsource the product or service in which I will offer.

The type of business is not as important as the need to be able to hire someone to perform the service for me.  I prefer to start with services  then advance to different products.

I am offering a finders fee for any partnership referrals.

Confused. What services are you trying to provide? Is it to businesses or consumers?

At the moment  I am thinking ANY service, to consumers,  Any service in which I can outsource to professionals within the industry.

I want to market my own brand.

Ok let me try to rephrase what I am looking to do.

I want to start my own business.  I do not have the expertise for the products and services in which I want to offer, which are many.  I am looking for people who want to or  already offer a product or service to the public. I want to purchase from them, said product/service, which I will resell under my own brand.

I am offering a program which will increase  your current sales.  Either I will be increasing your sales or your compeitions sales.

I am quite surprised that nobody wants more sales.......

Many groups decry the low wages that American companies pay workers overseas and suggest that they should be paid more fairly (translation: the same as workers in America would get paid).  What do you think?

The average US Factory worker makes about $50,000 a year.  The average household income in China equates to about $1400 a year.  What would a Chinese household do with $50,000?  What would that do to the Chinese economy?  What would that do to OUR economy?

Conversly, the average forklift operator in Japan makes the equivalent of about $33,000 a year.  The same forklift operator in, say, Mississippi (where Toyota has a factory) will earn about $20,000 a year.  So, should Toyota be obligated to pay the Mississippi forklift operator the SAME WAGE it pays a Japanes forklift operator?  The same could be said for Volvo - Swedish wages are much higher.

I think we need to be careful about demanding we pay US wages to overseas workers because sometimes WE are the overseas workers.

Opinions???

Great, we can give China the same problems we have - people who make $50,000 a year when housing will cost you $45,000 a year.

As long as I don`t have to live on the 43rd floor in a 800 square foot apartment like Japanese workers.

We have friends who moved from Manhattan to here and went from tiny apartment with 2 kids into 2500 square foot home with a yard.  Now, they are being transferred to Tokyo (she`s Japanese so it`s not all bad) and they are looking at the above mentioned housing situation.  UGH!  His pay will go up but their standard of living will plunge to standards below what they had in Manhattan - and they just had another baby.
