Hey guys,

I have launched a new website at www.ithinksotoo.com and I was wondering if I can get anyone`s feedback on it.

The idea is simple and supposed to be fun. I just launched phase 1, I have tons of extra functionality waiting to be added, but looking for time, and hopefully a little encouragement from getting some people interested with phase 1.

Please let me know what you think!

I checked it out and I love it!  How fun! I liked you meter and logo.  I`ll gladly help you!

Questions- Are you collecting data on each answer?  What will you do with it?
What are your future plans to make money using this site?

Good luck!  Dawn

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for checking the site out!
Yes I store tons of info on the answers on a back end database. If you register and enter some user details I can also link the answers to your demographics and then you can filter answers by category (like gender, marital status, age, etc). I recommend doing that. We also story the question/answer history for registered users which is pretty nifty.

For monetization, well, I`ve got some adsense ads up there (which I doubt will amount to much) but I would expect to at least make *some* money from online ads through pageview volume.

I have a couple of other ideas though for further monetization that I am going to start working on ASAP as soon as I work out the kinks out of the current version. One involves letting registered users post questions. However, all this needs to wait til I have a critical mass of users (and more questions in the DB).

Thanks agian for your time! You rock!

I did not "get" what the meter is trying to tell me???

The question shows a GREEN check (yes) and a RED "X" (no)...
then the meter shows a red side and green side.

If the meter show X% in the red part does that mean X% of the responders said "no" ("X")?

I guess the % represent the percent of YES answers. Say if all answers are yes the meter will be all the way on the right on the green side. If the all the answers are NO then it will be all the way on the left. If its split its right in the middle 50/50. So if the needle is at 60% its close to 50/50 but leaning on the yes side. if its pointing to 25% on the red side its 3/4 no vs 1/4 YES.

Do you think removing the percents would help in the axis? The idea is to show how one sided or even people`s answers are for the question.

make sense?

I really like the site, very hip and fun.

A small suggestion to remove the word "Us" from two of the menu choices, clutters it up a bit.  "About" and "Contact" is good enough.

I love the meter too and it made perfect sense to me.

Any statisticians out here?  I remember from my MBA days taking a class that revolved around asking very simple and seemingly non-related questions that later got put together to do market research, it was very analytical.  Perhaps you could sell that type of service to large companies (i.e. design questions that seem random to us users but reveal trends and buying habits for your paying customers)?  If you`re able to gather at least demographic data, this would be a valuable offer.  I`m embarrassed that I don`t even remember the name of the technique - I can probably dig it up if you`re really interested and no one else comments.

That`s what I was getting at.  I don`t know the term either.  I would love a list of, for example- individuals who would pay more for a handcrafted/american made/christian themed item.  By using your fun question the date you would collect could be great for niche marketing.  Using facebook or another social site you could get alot of people to participate.  People love passing on fun questions to their friends.

A virtual debate with funny graphics or sound effects would amuse me, also and could be done with more controversial questions.

Neat site!

Thanks for the explanation of the meter - I`m not an engineer, so I didn`t get it

Not to be overly picky, but you present the question with the GREEN check on the left and RED X on the right... but then display the results in opposite order (RED on the left and GREEN on the right).

May be flip the question or meter... so that for both the green and red are shown on the same side???

Showing the % is fine.

Dawn & Eric that sounds like a great idea and we were thinking about doing something like this as well. We think there are various ways this data can be useful. We started capturing some basic demographic info through registration and can capture further data with registered users later if we have a good way of using it.

I think to make this interesting we have to drive users to the site and start generating solid data. The other thing that we were thinking was allowing users  to purchase credits and use credits to submit questions. We can also reward loyal users with free credits. I dunno, something like that. And of course we would check the the submitted questions are good before posting them live.

Good stuff guys, I appreciate your feedback!

Cool Roland... also just found a small bug in the chart and I;m about o fix it. I like your comment on the red and green being reversed... sharp eyes! I think it makes sense to flip it around. Shouldn`t be too hard to do. I`ll try and get to it this weekend.

Thanks!
