We have recently started our own business to market our golf invention, The Club Caddy. We won the invention competition, "Fore inventors Only" on the Golf Channel last year and are ready to take this innovative product mainstream. We do not have a great deal of business experience and could certainly use the advise of someone that has gone or is going down this road. We currently have placed product in several major retail stores by way of a non-exclusive license agreement for manufacturing and distribution. The market is still wide open for us to market direct to consumer and to wholesale and distributor outlets. We have considered sales reps, media and other forms to get the word out but are in need of experienced direction. We are also still seeking funding to grow the business. Any interested in mentoring and /or a possible business interest in exchange please contact at www.theclubcaddy.com, djones@theclubcaddy.com
Thank you,
David Jones/President

Edgar, Someone that has proven success in this exact kind of venture and would be willing to point the way and advise on all points is really what we were seeking. I have tons of offers for assistance for web service, fulfillment etc. but not the necessary knowledge to effectively plan and execute in the most effienct manner. From setting up shipping and handling to setting up for managing sales reps and informational structure and integration, I am trying to find and study. Experience would help.

Well Suit yourself. I never pushed the web design issue. I could care less how your web site looks. I wanted to help you with the other end of the spectrum... The business plan, the marketing end of it. Anyone can design a web site, but it takes someone with marketing and business experience to get you where you want to be. Sorry if you didn`t look at it like that... My doors are closed... go else where... [kick in the rear end]

Edgar, Sorry you took my explaination that way. I was just trying to more concise in what we were looking for. I really don`t get your attitude. "I could care less what your website looks like". That seems a strange comment to me from someone who is in the business of designing top of the line sites according to your website. I`m sure your doors are closed. I might suggest a more patient approach to people, especially those like myself who explain up front that they are inexperienced.
Good luck to you. Sounds to me like you`ll need it.

What I meant by "I don`t care what your web site looks like" was, I wasn`t offering to help you, hoping that we do business together [re-design your site].
As you`ve seen here on Start Up Nation, web designers are "a dime a dozen",
Someone with the expertise and know how "on how to start a business with only $250.00 are rare.
I thought you could benefit from another entrepreneurs experience regardless what background they come from. You are right I don`t know anything about Golf Caddies, But there is one thing I`ve been through is the start up stage. 6 years into my business venture, and I still consider myself a start up business "There is a lot to learn, and the more people that I associate with, that have the same interestes [to be a business owner] the easier it is for me to function.

Oh my goodness, this is my first day here and I am shocked that someone seeking assistance would get such a bitter response from someone. After reviewing this site, I fully expected to a group of professionals with an open mind and willingness to help each other. I would never do business with someone like that. How rude!

To Mr. Jones, are you looking for a business counsultant or are you in need of a marketing specialist? I am neither. I am a Virtual Assistant, you may review my site to see if there is a need in my field of expertse. In respect to what you are needing, I would like to be clear on exactly what is is you want so perhaps I could point you to someone else. Please let me know if I can help.

Respectfully,

Cynthia

Cynthia,

Go Coasters and Kaufman, TX.  We lived in Bryan/College Station for a long time. Thank you for a breath of fresh air.  We currently aren`t ready for services such as you offer, but when we get there we will definitely keep you in mind.  We will now strongly consider narrowing our needs and being much more concise, there are many and it`s hard to say which is most pressing.  Thnak you so much for your comments.  Good luck with your journey here at Start Up Nation.

Blessings,

My response was not bitter in anyway Cynthia, I was upset at Mr. Jones, that he shut me out like that without knowing who I am or how I can help him. If you read carefully, I never pitched my services to Mr. Jones, Which is why I stated "I do not care how your web site looks like" [implying that I wasn`t in it for the money] Unlike your cheap pitch! please read your posting...

My objective was not to pitch to him, it was to help him "It was an offer that was coming from the me as a fellow entrepreneur and I understand that we come from different walk of lives with different types of businesses, but the structure and the know-how still remains the same.
Mr. Jones, I don`t think there`s anyone on the forum that can help you with golf caddies, but I`m sure there`s lots of people like myself that can offered you "honest help" there was no need for you to be rude.
Rudeness is applied where rudeness exists MR JONES..

Mr. Monroy,

You my friend are indeed bitter. For you to accuse me of making a `cheap pitch` is totally out of line. This is a business forum is it not? And I assume business owners here conduct business, provide encouragement, share information, congratulate each other etc. Never have I been on any other forum, where an individual like yourself, gives the impression that he is no more than a rude, bitter. selfish, little boy.

Get over yourself Mr. Monroy, I don`t need you to make contact with me for any reason. I much prefer having meaningful dialog with the adults.

Cynthia
