Precision Audio Restoration takes your old recordings, removes noises, and turns them into CDs for you.
We can handle the most popular audio formats of the last hundred years, all the way back to wire recordings and Edison cylinder records.
We can play records from 16 to 78rpm, up to 16 inches in diameter, lateral and vertical grooves, all equalization curves, dbx and CX encoded discs, aluminum and cardboard records, home made records, and flexible plastic records.
Tapes that can be restored include cassettes, 8-tracks, microcassettes, Elcasets, DCC, and reel to reel tapes from 1-7/8 to 15 inches per second, and tapes encoded with dbx and Dolby B and C.
Wire recordings are played back using solid state electronics, and cylinders are played on a custom made player that features electronic speed control and electrical playback with a very light stylus touch.
Record album jacket cover art can be scanned and printed for jewel case inserts, and pictures and graphics can be printed directly on the CDs themselves, avoiding the use of paper labels which can peel off or jam in some CD players.
CDs used are the superior phthalocyanine dye type, which are estimated to last 100 years.
We also offer a backup service for your restored recordings, so that if something ever happens to your CD, it can be replaced from the backup copy. Think of it as "audio insurance".
And if you intend to restore your own recordings, we offer the Derumbleizer, a high performance phono preamp that has active rumble cancellation circuitry built in to reduce audible turntable rumble almost 3 ocatves higher than any filter, while keeping the music totally intact.
