We – Don and Kate - currently reside in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan with our five children. Recently, we decided to move to St. Louis and at some point came up with the idea of making a big service project out of our move. Over several months, we have developed a plan to assist our oldest with his Boy Scout Eagle project as we volunteer hundreds of hours as a family serving in shelters, soup kitchens, eldercare homes and so forth. We also plan on helping individuals who may need repairs done to their home, broken appliances fixed, hygiene products and nutritious food purchased, etc. To create funds to make those things happen, we are turning to the community around us and seeking sponsors to contribute funds in exchange for advertising on our website, shirts and RV. The "big service project" we envisioned months ago has grown much larger than we anticipated, but we are excited about the opportunity to bring attention to the need to serve others and make a difference in the world around us. We’ve also been inspired to further develop a current idea into a business aimed towards people who want to change their lives but just plain don't have the funds to do it. Sometimes all the hard work in the world doesn't matter until you find someone who can help you along ... and when we arrive in St. Louis, we look forward to creating a company and business plan who's purpose is just that.
Our hope right now is two-fold:
- #1 ... if you're interested in maybe sponsoring us, check out our site and see the different sponsor levels ... they range from saving used ink jet cartridges for us (we turn them into a company for cash) to placing an advertisement on our RV.
- #2 - if you would check out our site and give us some pointers on what you like and what you would change, that would be very helpful, too. To date, we have only had friends and family check out the site and advise us, but sometimes they don't "tell you like it is". We are putting out a press release within the week, so any helpful tips (even brutal ones) would be welcome.
Well ... that's it ... thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon!
