Hello,

Can a person really make money from blogging?  Has anyone ever tried the Google Money System?  See nickgetsgreen.com for more info about this. It seems too good to be true.

Thanks,

Google Money System is a scam - at least according to this link.

I think we can change one word and ask the same question: Can a person make money writing?

As I`ve heard and believe it to be true - the only people making money off blogging/adsense are the people selling other people courses on how to make money.

YES, you can make money from Adsense on a blog site.

Of course, it depends on what your "blog" site is.

There are millions of blogs out there that are pure junk.... with content like  "I had breakfast today, then went to the bathroom. Now I`m dressing up and will go to work."

If that`s the kind of blog site you`ll put up, do the Internet a favor. DON`T!

The website I run deals with my hobby, with in-depth how-to guides, photos, videos, etc. I do it because I love my hobby, love writing about it, taking lots of pictures... and lots of people love going to my site, inspires them to do the same thing, take up my hobby... and that makes the ads on my site very compelling to check out.  The hobby requires the services of special manufacturers that bid anywhere from $0.50 to $1.50 per click. The topic/subject also ranks high with Adwords advertising.

Now, I am not one of those people making $5K a month on Adsense.  I think that`s fiction... who knows.  (It`s easy for Google to write a big check to your name.... don`t collect your Adsense income for months and at the end of the year, tell Gogle to send in your check... voila! ... big check from Google! )

But I can tell you $400 a month is possible.  My minimum is $180 a month.  It`s not a lot of money to live on... but still good enough for extra money.

Whether I`m running ads or not, I`ll still have this hobby website up and running.  I like the community I have built.  Running ads is icing on the cake... and an extra $150-$400 a month of "free money" gives me enough spending money for a new projet for my hobby, which I then develop into a future article, which brings in more users, and the cycle repeats.   When I was new with Adsense, I`m only making $30/month.

So my advice to you is ask yourself if the topic you`ll be blogging about has enough interests from people and most importantly, advertisers?  Can you keep up doing this for years?  Are you doing your blogging solely for the money? or because you love the topic and it is your passion?

Hi everyone,

I have a question that may fit in with this topic. What is the best way(s) to monetize blogs? Thanks.

God bless..

There are many blogs online that you can use to find out how to make money with your blog. My personal favorite right now is ProBlogger.com but there are others you can google to find that are worth reading.

One word of advice. The one page, hard sell blogs usually have nothing that you can`t find with a little reading and googling around. Building a profitable website is a process, not an event.

Good luck.

You can certainly make money with a blog.  I have been writing a blog for a little over a year and I make about $400 a month.  I know of people who make thousands a month.  But it has to be a quality blog about something you love and have knowledge about.

And you have to be prepared to spend a lot of time on it.  Writing a blog is more time consuming than it seems on the surface.  It takes months and months to build up your readership to a point where the income is significant.

It`s all depends on your blog`s niche. The higher paying keywords are harder to attract traffic for because of intense competition. I agree that you must provide high quality content. If you are passionate you should be able to generate significant revenue if you stick at it. It takes months to build up your blog so that it`s generating solid revenue.
