This is based on the number of votes received and does not reflect the quality of the business or chances of winning.
I have an extremely small business, of me. I create flattened bottle serving trays created from either bottles I have, or bottles with sentimental value to you!
Every empty bottle tells a story.... a shared evening with friends, an engagement, a wedding, an anniversary, or maybe just a bad night! I will take your special bottle, flatten it using heat up to 1400 degrees and once flattened, I create "jewelry" for your bottle using the bead color of your choice. I have learned from working with both heat, glass, jewelry wire, and beads that you cannot fight the medium that you are working with, or you will not be happy with the results. Thus, I simply ask for a color choice in your beads and I will do the leg work to find the perfect beads for your bottle. No bottle will EVER look the same as another bottle. I've learned not to fight the wire when working with it. If you start to fight with it, you end up with crimps and funny turns that are not flowing or pleasing to the eye. The flattened bottles can be used as serving dishes or decoration. I use jewelry wire as well as glass, ceramic, or natural stone for the pieces so that they can be safely hand-washed.
As stated, I don't create mass quantities of these as I like each person to be completely happy with their choices of bottle color and beads. It takes time to create them...
I think that the balance of time of being a mom/wife/teacher and artist is what makes what I do so special. I enjoy spending time on each bottle and I enjoy the reactions that I get back when a bottle is delivered. A much more practical use of the bottled memory than just an empty bottle getting dusty and sitting on a shelf.... Enjoy the memory... of YOUR empty bottle moments...
