Contestant's Case to Win

This is based on the number of votes received and does not reflect the quality of the business or chances of winning.
I grew up elbow-to-elbow with my mother, working on my own sewing projects while my mom engaged in her favorite hobby and side business. Now I find it wholly satisfying that my own daughter can sew elbow-to elbow with me as I engage in my full-time business making luxurious, vintage garments.

Halter Hotties: A bit of fanciful fashion where vintage meets eco-chic. Sexy wicked, one-of-a-kind halter top blouses that are truly art for your body. Made with antique buttons, vintage scarves & silk ribbons.

I began Halter Hotties shortly after my mother’s death at the hands of ALS. “Retail therapy” came while shopping for vintage scarves with my daughter; the prototype blouse was one I made for my daughter, while the company name was borne of an off-hand comment my husband made one warm afternoon when we returned from estate sale treasure hunting, arms full of scarves. “There are my Halter Hotties,” he commented, and the name stuck.

These days I find my product giving my customers pleasure: silky confections, with heirloom value, flatter the outside - while the eco-friendly concept makes them feel good inside. My company also gives me pleasure: as I sort through collections of vintage buttons left by my grandmother; as I smell the lavender infusing my mother’s sewing notions; as my daughter sees me engaging with my creative spirit, encouraged to engage, herself.
