Contestant's Case to Win

My idea for The Satin Button was born after my mom passed away unexpectedly when I was pregnant with my second son. I grew up around my mom's retail businesses and wanted to find a way to carry on her legacy. I decided to combine her love for holidays with my life as a mom, and created The Satin Button.

My mom had seasonal Christmas stores in several malls, and I would watch all the moms with strollers walk quickly by, telling their kids they couldn't go in because everything was too fragile. I would hear stories from moms about decorating their trees only from midway up, or putting the ugly ornaments on the bottom.

My goal was to offer moms unique gifts and decorations that would be kid-friendly. I sought out durable yet beautiful holiday decorations, as well as holiday-themed kids' products. The Satin Button features top quality items to help families celebrate special occasions together - baby shower gifts, big brother big sister gifts, birthday tees, kid-friendly holiday decorations, and more fun items just for Mom.

I decided to sell primarily online so I could be home with my two young kids. I love being able to raise my kids and run a business, and admire all moms who find a way to make it work.
