Though helpful; most magazines, websites, and other forms of media place the primary focus of this important time in a woman’s life on the baby. We as moms, naturally place a tremendous amount of attention on the baby developing inside of us and the baby once they are born. However, we neglect to focus on taking care of ourselves, our health, and our needs. Happy and Healthy Mom is here to help empower women to take care of themselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually without any guilt for taking time away from their babies. It is important for women to learn that they can take better care of others if they take better care of themselves first. Happy and Healthy Mom does this through a monthly e-zine, social network, and mommy expos. Happy and Healthy Mom is an ever-growing startup that has been responsible for events held in Miami and recently in Palm Beach as a key event of National Mom's Nite Out.
Heather should be considered a leading business woman as she has made tremendous strides in the little amount of time she has been in business for herself. She started her website in her son's hospital room as she knew she needed to work from home & both of her kids being hospitalized for illnesses contracted in daycare was the last straw. Heather used her experience as a small business/nonprofit consultant and marketing professional, with over 10 years in business development and management, to develop Happy and Healthy Mom. She possesses a BA in Psychology & Sociology, a Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and graduate education in Forensic Psychology. She credits her knowledge to past experience, including founding and serving as Executive Director of a 501 (c) (3) organization, small business workshops & books, other moms, and self-teaching.
In addition to Happy and Healthy Mom.Com, she heads a small business/ entrepreneurial branding social network, Become Better Brands. She founded a mom entrepreneur grant fund, blog, as well as a conference & expo taking place in NYC at the end of October. She is the co-founder of the Bloggin’ Mamas Cruise Conference being held 4/29/11-5/2/11. She is also a nonprofit consultant for the Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations and is responsible for founding their Florida Nonprofit Network.
Heather reports that her natural instincts are to help people and that she does this in whatever venture she takes on. She also has a strong desire to empower moms to take care of themselves first, so that they can take better care of others. Heather supports mom entrepreneurs by using momvendors for her Happy and Healthy Mom events.
Heather has been quoted in the Miami Herald, on CBS, several blogs, and has appeared on multiple internet radio shows. She has also been recognized by The Work At Home Woman as one of the 20 Most Responsive Women to Follow on Twitter.
