Contestant's Case to Win

This is based on the number of votes received and does not reflect the quality of the business or chances of winning.
I have spent the last 5 years developing a beautiful product line including reusable bags in every shape and size, clothing from repurposed materials, toys, stationary and more totaling over 50 items. From this venture I designed and developed patterns and tutorials for the DIY customer as well. These patterns are sold on YCMT, etsy and my own website. Although I still make every items from home studio, last year my mom and I decided to open a small boutique to sell our items locally and allow other small makers a great place to sell their items as well. My goal from the beginning has been to take steps toward better consumer habits. I'm crafty, innovative and full of green living info.
My creed is:
To Consume Less

To Reduce my Waste Footprint

To Be Wise Stewards of Creation

To Work as a Community to form a Healthy, Thriving Business

Ultimately, I am in business to leave a legacy of wise making and purchasing of goods. We homeschool our 4 kids and as they are about to enter the world as the next generation of citizens I want to model the best practices for wise living. As I teach them to make things, repair things and consider needing less they become aware of how their future will look. Each of them take turns working in our handmade store and assisting me in producing our stock of goods and they personally see how the community supports our endeavors, from this they have all started their own small businesses. This is my legacy as a small business owner and mom.
