Contestant's Case to Win
This is based on the number of votes received. Red Thread was born from both urgency and necessity. Blessed with a clean bill of health after surviving a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery, I still battled two nagging issues: persistent pain and unsightly, uncomfortable under garments. I pioneered Red Thread—a line of beautiful, comfortable clothing and Breast Shapers to help other survivors like me regain their pre-surgical sense of femininity and confidence.
In my roles as a mother, a physician, a breast cancer survivor—and now a business owner, I’ve learned to transform perceived obstacles into innovative and inspiring opportunities. I’m fiercely motivated to set a meaningful example for my teenaged daughter and her friends, and I know the success of Red Thread will empower them to aim for the stars in their own lives.
I hope to maximize outreach and touch the lives of survivors everywhere—moms like me hoping to regain their physical and emotional footing after a cancer diagnosis—and I know my Red Thread line can make a significant, positive impact. A spot on the 2012 Leading Moms in Business list will surely help further these important objectives.
