Hi, my name is Penny and I am the owner of Green Kid Crafts. I am the mother to a newborn, one impish toddler, and wife to one larger one. We all live together in a house in the hills in Anchorage, Alaska, where I can often be found with paint under my fingernails or scribbling madly in a notebook.

Like so many children's products, Green Kid Crafts is a mother's invention, born out of need. I'm a busy working mom, but nothing is more precious to me than spending quality time interacting with my two children. Like many other parents, I want to spend my limited time connecting with them, not scrambling for ideas and shopping for safe and earth-friendly supplies. That is where Green Kid Crafts comes in.

Green Kid Crafts is the original earth-friendly craft subscription company. With Green Kid Crafts, parents and kids can enjoy earth-friendly, monthly projects that spark creativity and cultivate respect and love for the environment. Suitable for kids ages 3-8, three of our craft projects are delivered to kids every month. All materials are included in the package, making it one-stop shopping for child engagement. • Working to make sure all craft supplies can be recycled.
• Avoiding craft foams and plastics.
• Minimizing packaging and printing.
• Using recycled labels and paper envelopes for shipping.
• Using plant-based sustainable and compostable clear packaging.
• Offsetting 100% of the carbon dioxide generated by business activities.
• Integrating eco-awareness into craft themes wherever possible.

What sets Green Kid Crafts apart is that we are the only earth-friendly craft subscription service in the nation. Green Kid Crafts offsets 100% of the carbon dioxide generated by business activities and helps fund the development of renewable energy projects across the United States. For 2011, we offset 36 tons of CO2, and in 2012 pledged to do the same. Additionally, Green Kid Crafts was recently awarded the Green America Business Seal of Approval.
