Contestant's Case to Win
This is based on the number of votes received. Chell's Chic Creations was started as a craft project to entertain my niece. I went from tacky craft projects to make my sister happy to purchasing semi-precious stones, metals and creating works of art!
I love how my business has been something that I can do at home around my two son's schedules. I have a small studio in the basement of my house where I can disappear to, listen to music (80's please!) and create jewelry that is one-of-a-kind.
My style mixes vintage, salvage and antique components with new. I love the hunt! I love to go into an antique store and look for something unusual that I can potentially turn into a gorgeous, conversation piece. I have been using antique keys quite a bit in my designs. I look at each key as holding the secrets to many stories. I would love to know where they came from and what they were used for.
Another component I like to use are old spoons that I stamp with sayings that are a little colorful and make me laugh! (And hopefully make the person wearing it laugh a little as well.)
My jewelry is not perfect. It's not precise. I like it to be a little rough around the edges; like life...like me.
I would love to take my business to the next level and have a nicer website made, a new logo and my ultimate dream would to introduce it to a larger, national audience via a major retailer.
I am happy to be able to create beautiful pieces of wearable art that make other moms happy ! I hope I can continue to grow my business while keeping my home life and family my number one priority.
