Contestant's Case to Win
This is based on the number of votes received. When I was about 12 when my mom completed culinary school and became a chef she handed me her cake decorating tools and said "Have Fun" she had a passion for cooking but not baking. In 2007 my mom was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer and passed away a little over 6 months later.
I had always made cakes for my family but never really thought much of making it a career. After making a cake for a family friend and with much convincing from total strangers I decided to give it a go. While working my "regular job" full time after a year of doing both I decided it was time to make the leap, jump out of my comfort zone and follow my passion. Losing my mom, my best friend reminded me life is too short not to follow your heart.
It is important to me that we give back to those less fortunate. I have done events for The Boys & Girls club of Miami Dade county & Feeding South Florida. I work with Icing Smiles, an organization that provides celebration cakes to critically ill children and their siblings. It is important to me that I do my best to take care of the community that supports me.
I appreciate your support.
