Contestant's Case to Win

The Busy Mom Boutique was launched in early 2011 as a specialty retail store where consumers can find practical mom-invented solutions for maternity, baby and beyond.

After working as a Marketing Coordinator for over 5 years at a Medical Device Manufacturing Company, I decided to open the boutique so that I could have the opportunity to stay home with my children while also being able to use what I had learned and observed in those previous 5 years to do my part in helping to advance moms in business.

The boutique was aptly named after the amazing mom-inventors that are busy designing and creating the products that we offer and for the countless busy moms that visit the store each day to find solutions to help them in their day-to-day lives.

“Necessity is the mother of invention” and the products available at the boutique were born out of that necessity. Today, when moms can’t find the product they are looking for or they aren’t happy with the quality, they have no problem stepping up to the plate. For many, being a mom and having past experience in the business world has prepared them for such a time as this.

I am honored to be able to work with such amazing women who have sacrificed so much of their time, money and energy to get their innovative products into the hands of fellow moms who might benefit from their idea. My mission for the boutique is to make these products readily available to moms in their journey through motherhood by becoming a one-stop-shop for these practical necessities.

Since launching last year, the boutique has been featured in The New York Times, WowELLE, LaunchHer and other publications that have helped grow the business dramatically. It has been an incredible year and I am so thankful to have this opportunity.

In an effort to give back, we set aside one dollar from every sale to contribute towards KIVA loans to mom-entrepreneurs in developing countries to help play a roll in the battle against poverty. A portion of the dollar will also be donated to a non-profit at the end of 2012 to help end child abuse.
