Contestant's Case to Win

This is based on the number of votes received.
I am an an artist, a metal smith, a wife, and a mom. I created my business over 10 years ago in order to do something creative and sustainable to help support my family. I needed to exercise my creativity and independence, but it was also critical that I was able to remain home and continue homeschooling my four children.

And for the last 10 years I have done just that. I have built my business slowly, based on the needs of my family. As they have gotten older and able to do more studying on their own I have pushed myself hard.

I have used each of my children for different parts of the business. I know that being home and seeing the day to day struggles and triumphs has begun to establish in their mind a strong work ethic and respect for entrepreneurship.

At one point during the holidays my 16 year old son was sawing metal, my 14 year old daughter was sanding finished pieces, the 12 year old daughter was entering orders and the 9 year old daughter was wrapping packages. It was hard and tiring and LONG LONG days, but they all pitched in and it made my heart smile.

I blog about being a mom and an entrepreneur - I'm honest about how hard it is...and how rewarding. I try to be encouraging to other moms that they can do this too. And as we expand I am looking to hire other moms. Moms that need to work, but desire flexibility in their schedules to be able to be home when their kids need them! That is very important to me!

I DO love my job...I get to play with metal and fire...what's not to love? And if I need to step away from the bench for a hug, well, that's easily accessible too!

I believe I should be considered as a Leading Mom in business, not only because of my success in business - but for my hearts desire to be a successful mom, and to enable other moms see their creative potential.
