Aloha!
My name is Jessica Taylor and I am a "Leading mom" of 2. I began Shaka Soap in 2011 in October. I was concerned about all of the ingredients that are found in products on the market. Many of these ingredients are harmful and completely unnecessary! With 2 small little girls, I wanted to make sure that nothing potentially toxic was absorbed into their developing bodies. Thus began Shaka Soap, in my kitchen ;)
I first began creating glycerin and cold process soaps, and quickly became intrigued with other bath and body products. I started making rich lotions with shea and mango butter, lip balms, soothing salves, bath salts, and sugar scrubs. As soon as I dabble into liquid soap, I will be offering shampoo, conditioner, and bubble bath. This is truly my passion.
For being so new to the business world, I am already a part of The Artisan Group which presents gifts to celebrities at award ceremonies, such as the Oscars, Golden Globes, MTV Movie Awards, etc. I have been featured on Etsy Lush, gohawaii.com, I am a member of the Hawaii Visitor's and Convention Bureau, and the Handcrafted Soap Makers Guild. I have also designed my own website, figured out SEO marketing, and I design and print all my own labels and packaging.
I want Shaka Soap to be known as an eco friendly company! We use recycled paper and products for labeling and packaging and natural ingredients in our products. I am a fast learner and a quick study when it comes to success and leadership, and I know Shaka Soap will become a company that will be a household name very soon.
