This is based on the number of votes received.My name is Holly Bartman, I'm a former special education teacher and stay-at-home mother of two children from Farmington, Mich., I started making and selling custom superhero capes for my children in 2006. Since then, we have turned this home-based business into a Livonia, MI -based international business via PowerCapes.com, and we ship thousands of superhero capes for children and adults worldwide. We currently employ nine moms. We are extremely dedicated to supporting the local community, which includes non profits such as the Heart Heroes Foundation, a provider of custm superhero capes for children born with congenital heart defects. And recently we started working with The Superhero Foundation to help kids whom have suffered from child abuse. This year we are attempting to break the world record for most superheroes gathered in one spot.
Every cape is made by hand, by a mom, right here in the USA. PowerCapes has already shipped thousands of capes in 2011 and has a goal of creating 100,000 capes this year. Superfly manufacturing has recently launched a line of tutus that we plan on expanding and is preparing to launch some additional products in the coming weeks. So stay tuned!
PowerCapes.com turns kids into real superheroes, allowing them to use their imaginations to create new superpowers and fight evil doers. We certainly hope to win the competition, but we know that to the thousands of kids who have one of our capes, we already have.
