Since 2005, Cooking Traditional Foods has been helping you feed your family nourishing foods they will love. With our weekly Menu Mailer and allergy-friendly recipes, our goal is to produce recipes your family will eat and you will feel good about serving.
The CookingTF Menu Mailer is the longest-running traditional foods Menu Mailer on the internet. Each issue covers five dinners (including side dishes), one breakfast, one soup during winter and one dessert every week. We also include extra recipes such as ferments, snacks or condiments, tips and information. It contains a full menu, shopping list, a preparation plan, and serving suggestions for each meal. If you choose to use commercially-canned products, we note which companies user BPA-free packaging, where known.
What makes the Cooking Traditional Foods menu mailer unique? While other mailers contain only three dinners, our Mailer features five. A preparation schedule is included with every menu mailer. It reminds you when to thaw the meat, prep the crock-pot, make the stock or soak the grains. Because lack of planning is a major hurdle in getting healthy meals on the table, this schedule helps you make sure everything is done. It also contains blanks so you can write in your own reminders for breakfast, snacks and lunches. We include a list of things you can do before the week begins to help decrease the amount of time you spend in the kitchen during the week. This includes things like soaking or sprouting and cooking beans, making condiments, baking breads, making yogurt and more.
Most menu mailers only contain main dish recipes, but no side dishes. The CookingTF menu mailer contains recipes for side dishes, where applicable.
The CookingTF Menu Mailer has the option for every meal to be gluten and/or casein free, so those with food allergies or who are new to having to cook for someone with allergies do not have to convert the recipes. Each shopping list contains suggestions for gluten and casein free brands to assist those new to allergy cooking.
