My name is Heather and I am the mom of four and custodial stepmom of two. I founded Cafe Smom to pursue my passion to encourage, inform, inspire, support and connect Smoms!
Statistics report there are over 14 million stepmoms in the US alone yet the products and resources geared for stepfamilies weren't meeting the demand when I became a Smom in 2007. Stepfamily dynamics are different than "traditional" family dynamics and need their own set of resources to help stepparents and children navigate the journey. Great resources and encouragement are always brewing at Cafe Smom.
As a StepMom Encourager and Coach, I offer coaching sessions and work with stepmoms all over to help them design a personal plan for finding inner peace. Often times, stepmoms can feel isolated and I work tirelessly to connect them with other stepmoms as part of my "Where StepMoms Connect" Community. I also blog my personal journey as both an ex-wife and wife, mom and stepmom. Stepmoms are looking for real advice and uplifting support and they find it at Cafe Smom.
I created and offer a line of Smom gear in my Eshop. These products are made exclusively for stepmoms and were birthed from the desire of my stepdaughters to be able to give me a gift specific to my role as their Smom. It is the first Eshop that sells gifts made just for stepmoms.
Winning the Leading Moms in Business Competition means the world to me. It would enable my reach to go even further and impact more stepmoms and more stepfamilies. Stepmoms ARE the heart of their blended family! If the stepmom crumbles under the pressure of stepfamily dynamics, the family is likely to follow. My passion is to support and encourage the stepmom and in doing so, supporting the stepfamily.
