Contestant's Case to Win

Strawesome is the beginning of a beautiful thing for me. As a stay at home mom with a degree in Architecure and not working in this field I knew I needed to find a passion to keep my creativity going.
My husband and I learned about glass straws in 2009 and I took classes at a local school called The Glass Academy. I loved it SO much that a few months later we decided to incorporate our business and just "go for it". I've done many jobs in my life and my role in Strawesome is the only one that brings me so much joy and satisfaction.
I've learned over the course of the past two years that I'm not just creating something fun but also incredibly helpful. Some customers use our straws to help with sensitive teeth, after they have suffered a stroke and can not hold a glass, when a jaw has been wired shut, or to get more water and good food into their bodies.
What I love most about what I do is that our product is functional art. When you drink from something as pretty as one of our decorative straws you can't help but smile. I don't want to put more "dust collectors" out into the world! I love seeing how our customers use our product, especially kids! (the photo I've attached is one from a fan)
In the current economy our business is exploding and this is helping to provide for my family, this makes me extremely proud of what I do. I honestly can not see myself retiring from this job, I love it too much to stop!
