Contestant's Case to Win

Mom Trek was founded by me, Captain Myway, in 2010. I literally lead a double life - I have to be TWO PEOPLE - I am both your captain on this voyage AND my super secret alter ego that my friends and family know me as, with a regular job and everyday life! It can be exhausting trying to remember which person I am RIGHT NOW...

As life long resident of the Kansas City area AND a life long fan of all things Trek, I wanted to do something totally unique... so I decided to blog! In all seriousness, Mom Trek is about the continuing journey of life, family and friends in the city that we call home. Kansas City has such a huge metro area that spans 2 states (look it up) with...

* major sports teams ( We have the Chiefs AND the Royals - perhaps you've heard of them),
* unique shopping (The Country Club Plaza, The Legends, Zona Rosa, Crown Center, etc.)
* fun dining experiences (T-Rex Cafe, all BBQ, DUDE - we're freaking Kansas City, we own BBQ!, tons of steak houses, there is seriously no end),
* casinos (a couple of them around town to be explored)
* an amusement park or two (Worlds of Fun, Oceans of Fun, Adventure Oasis, the Schlitterbahn and more),
* not to mention the towns that surround us that have their own charm (Lawrence, Columbia, Weston, Lake of the Ozarks... get a map!)

that we felt like this was something that we could really get into. There are literally hundreds of awesome places in Kansas City that people NEED to know about. Our crew is having an amazing time going all over KC and trying new things, meeting new people and telling new stories.

There is quite a group of us - with me in command, all working together in secret, to bring you unbiased, timely and entertaining ideas. So, if it's going to be unbiased, why are we working in secret? Well, honestly... because we all have day jobs. We all have employers, family members, kids and friends that we don't want to have recognize us for the geeks that we are. Here at Mom Trek we don't just love Star Trek, it's all things Sci Fi, such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Galaxy Quest, Back to the Future, The Matrix, Transformers, etc. We are a closet group of nerds out to have fun, do some reviews and keep our alter ego's a secret so we can continue to go about our business normally.
