Headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida, Onyx Group is an award winning marketing communications agency. Through cutting edge graphic design, strong rebranding, and interactive strategic planning we take businesses to the next level.

Why should I be considered a Leading Mom in Business?

For starters I am the proud mother of a 5 year old son and 1 year old daughter. When I’m not juggling soccer practice, story time, or diaper changes I am the agency principal and majority owner of Onyx Group.

While most businesses are barely holding on during the current economic climate, Onyx Group is thriving. 2009 has already seen Onyx expand into the Orlando and Miami markets all the while creating massive buzz in our home of Tallahassee.

Finding the balance between business owner and mother is often times challenging. Clients of Onyx occasionally find my youngest, Sophia, attending meetings and company outings. After all, Onyx Group and those we service are one big family.

With strong family ties to Morocco, I am raising my children to be fluent in English, Arabic, and French. By the time they enter the business world as adults the world economy will be at an unfathomable speed and they will need every advantage I can give them.

Every mother knows it’s important to never lose sight of oneself. Three days a week I make it a priority to take care of myself through grueling workouts in a boot camp style setting. A strong mind and body filter down into my effectiveness as a company leader and loving mother.
If there’s one thing I have learned as a business owner and mother is that things are always changing. You have to be able to roll with the punches and adjust at a moment’s notice. Time management becomes critical, but so too does the ability to laugh and smile during the most stressful of times. At the end of the day I get to come home to the two most precious children in the entire world and all the headaches seem to fade away.
