Contestant's Case to Win

I launched my Interior Redesign business in October 2008. I have been making home decor and accessories as a working artist and decided it was time to get certified to be the one who put the whole room together. Why should I be considered? 1. Because I give back. I kicked off my business volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity Restore Spaces Event. I was one of 8 local designers who was challenged to reuse what was donated at the local Habitat Restore. I started with nothing but three plywood walls and transformed it into a headscratching state of the art living room retreat. After many hours of painting, refinishing, etc. I was humbled when my room won two designs. I won the People's Choice and Judge's Choice (the Mayor picked me - my profile photo is from the event - everything was repurposed or refinished!). I firmly believe in paying it forward and love the commitment and contributions that Habitat for Humanity does for the community. What I did helped to build 5 houses in our area. That warms me heart and soul. #2. The second reason is that what I do is good for the environment. I use what people have to transform their space. I don't make them go out and buy a whole new dining room or living room set. I make their stuff look good by proper placement, accessorizing, etc! So, it is good for my client's wallet and the environment. I go GREEN. 3. Give me some trash and I will make a treasure. They don't call me the "MacGyver of Decorating" for nothing.
