We love being a part of all the special events in a woman’s life – from engagements and weddings to baby showers, births and birthday parties.

I launched my company in 2002 from my kitchen table in Westport, Connecticut when I was 7 months pregnant with my first child. Whereas other moms-to-be may decide to “take it easy” before the baby comes, I had an amazing amount of energy and couldn’t wait to launch my own business. As a wedding planner in New York City and the Director of Special Events at the 92nd Street Y, I found that the invitations available at the time were very traditional . . . there were pink booties on an invitation for a girl baby shower and blue booties on an invitation for a boy baby shower. Having also worked for a number of years in the fashion industry for Diane Von Furstenberg, I decided to combine my event planning experience with my passion for fashion and designed a collection of chic, fashion-forward baby shower and bridal shower invitations. The collection was soon featured as a “Best Bet” in New York Magazine, in “O” The Oprah Magazine and on Daily Candy, and and the excitement has not stopped since!

Six years, three baby boys, five hundred designs, and over 1000 retail stores later, the Bonnie Marcus Collection can now be found world-wide in stores such as Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendel, Bloomingdales, Destination Maternity and Harrods of London. Having a background in the non-profit world, it is important to me that with every sale we “give back” to the community. We donate a percentage of our profit to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and other organizations promoting breast cancer research and education. We have also partnered with a number of celebrities on designing “Cards for a Cause” – a holiday card collection designed by celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, with a percentage of the proceeds donated to the charity of their choice. Cindy has chosen The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America. Other celebrity moms who use our cards and invitations for their special events are Angie Harmon, Christina Aguilera, Marcia Cross, and Brooke Shields.

Although my home is filled with dinosaurs and super hero figurines, in my pretty pink office I am surrounded by 10 amazing,creative and supportive mommies all helping to make my dream of running a successful woman-owned business a reality!
