GreenBridge Architects
Serving Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, the firm is dedicated to improving the local building stock through outstanding and thoughtful design, anchored in simple sustainable principles. We design home additions and renovations that improve the quality of life in function and beauty and also reduce energy use and are healthier environments for living.
We are bringing a new building model to the area by including an energy audit and strategies for energy-use improvement as part of a renovation or addition project. We also take great care in assessing the existing home and improving its liveability and beauty as part of the project. This improves on a common unsustainable and wasteful model of an addition becoming the favorite part of the home, and the 'old' part being left dark and unused.
As part of my outreach with the community, I have worked to develop the Green Building Group, a forum bringing together local leaders in the sustainable building field.
After 15 years of working in the field of Architecture, I married and started a family. 8 years and 2 sons later, I can now say that after working in some of the most prestigious architectural firms in Chicago, and the leading residential firm in Portsmouth, NY, that I've found the best route for myself and my family. I've been able to continually develop better practices and methods in my work, while maintaining a healthy balance for my family. It was a long road to get here, but the exhiliration of being self-employed is an every day joy.
I would like to be considered for an award because I never thought I could have my own company, and I have through my process of achievement learned that I can do it all!
