Contestant's Case to Win

My name is Darline Turner-Lee and I am a physician assistant and clinical exercise specialist. My company is Next Step Fitness, Inc and I educate women to make wise health care choices via educational workshops and seminars, published health care articles, podcasting and personal fitness training.

In 2006 I wrote, performed in and produced a dvd for pregnant women on prescribed bed rest called Bedrest Fitness. The DVD is doing well and has motivated me to translate it into Spanish. The Spanish translation was launched this past week.

In preparing for the DVD and from the comments from women who have purchased the DVD, I became motivated to serve high risk pregnant women even more. So this spring, I will be launching a service segment through my business called Bedrest Comfort & Care. This service will assist moms on bed rest to be better positioned in bed for maximum comfort, teach them how to do modified exercises to maintain muscle strength and tone, and be a support to mom and her family by providing massages, meal delivery services, light housekeeping, and errands.

I am also researching bed rest as a treatment and will be performing a research study to see if bed rest is the most beneficial treatment for high risk pregnant moms and babies.
