Contestant's Case to Win

Backspace Records is an “artist friendly” independent record label with a diverse roster of artists. Translation: we are a label that is open, honest and fair with its artists, has a philanthropic component, and makes great music for families. We own a full recording studio and have complete control of what happens through the entire process of music making - something that is pretty uncommon in the music business.
My husband is a musician, writer and producer. He does all things “creative,” and I run all things business related. Among our roster, we have a critically acclaimed blues artist, an indie/rock/pop artist, and a children’s music artist. Our latest album, The Baby Grands, has been dubbed “ALT rock for kids,” and has received terrific reviews.
Running a start up in one of the most "cut-throat" industries in the entertainment business, attempting to defy the norms of the record business all the while the digital age is changing record labels by the mili-second, and having a 22 month at home with me while I do it is a juggling act that can rival any clown. :)
