One Meaning Couture is based on a message of love. My mom and I used to say "831" to each other as our secret code for "I love you" - 8 letters, 3 words, 1 meaning during one of the most challenging times in both of our lives.
My mom had breast cancer and after being in remission for 10 years, it returned and had metastasized throughout
several areas of her body. Four months after my mom began chemotherapy for the second time, I was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes - and so we both were undergoing treatment at the same time. I always felt this was a blessing, because it allowed me to fully share and understand what my mother was going through. We shared many long nights at the hospital exchanging lots of 831’s, while my mother closed her eyes and fantasized about oncology wings being shut down because they had found the cure for cancer.

Tragically, my mother lost her battle in October
of 1995, and after experiencing such a tremendous loss, I found comfort in discovering the numbers 831 in the most unexpected places, taking it as a sign that my mother’s love carries on. One Meaning was born from that love.

During the past year, my business partner and I have experienced several astonishing coincidences with this number. Coincidences that might have gone unnoticed, if this number had not been so significant and full of meaning, and if there had not been so many instances, which further confirmed that love knows no boundaries and that we are all connected.

It is our sincere hope that love really can change the world. That change starts with our policy to give back 8.13% of all sales to a different highlighted charity each month. As One Meaning grows, so will its charitable contribution. The vision is to one day be able to donate 81.3% of all proceeds to a deserving entity each month, such as causes or people in need and organizations that promote peace, kindness, tolerance, respect and love for humanity. P.S. I have been in remission ever since and now share my
legacy of love with my beautiful daughter. Just having her is a miracle in itself.
