Welcome to YouCanMakeThis.com, a talented world of moms who are empowered to share their expertise and passions with others in easy to use step-by-step, photo guides. The website’s 34 do-it-yourself categories range from clothing creation, jewelry, home décor and “made from jeans” to twirl skirts.

Started in 2006 by mother of three, Kim Christopherson, the site has grown to feature the expertise of over 200 contributing authors – almost all of whom are either mothers or grandmothers. The spectacular growth of the site has led to thousands of loyal customers, all enjoying the deep personal satisfaction of being empowered to say, “I made this!” A strong commitment to the unique needs of its mom customer base and a lot of very hard work has been the source of the company’s success. Recently, Kim expanded the vision of her company and branched out to create SWAKembroidery.com, a machine embroidery site, and already has several more projects “in the works.”

When asked to explain how being a successful entrepreneur has effected her life, Kim said, “Being able to share in the joy that happens when someone overcomes their doubt and creates something beautiful for their home or a loved one is so gratifying. Working with our author-moms to share their expertise and find a new income stream in these tough economic times also makes me feel like we’re doing something to truly help others. And we have a great team to work with to make it all happen. All around, I just love what we do.”
