As a mother of two and an arts educator for many years, Miki has a special ability to build rapport with children and their families, putting them quickly at ease. To create this relaxed atmosphere, sessions take place in-home or at a scenic location in the North Valley. In the familiar comfort of home or in the unpredictable beauty of a park, the camera is forgotten and true personalities shine through.

Miki's award-winning style is contemporary photojournalism. While Miki does interact with her subject(s) providing guidance and encouragement, she prefers natural expressions of kids just being kids. She moves beyond posed "say cheese" shots to images that capture the individuality and pure spirit of your children. And yes, sometimes this does mean messy hair, boogers and dirt.
