All without worrying about my baby’s safety and comfort.
My Carseat Blankie® is all of this and more.
My Carseat Blankie® was designed for my two Springtime babies!
I needed a blanket I could put on and take off easily and quickly with the change in temperatures and without all that bulk of a traditional blanket. My Carseat Blankie truly is the perfect size.
By combining my design background with my mommy history, I hand picked the various patterns and fabrics I have available. I am amazed to find that I can’t keep my double minky Mod Dots collection in stock! And my Tan with Animals fleece is another best-seller.
After trial and error of a few different sizes, I have come up with the perfect size for your infant and toddler car seats, and most standard strollers. People have even told me they're using them in the bouncy seats and swings!
In March of 2008 I launched my first blankies into the market at The American Baby Faire in Boston. It was a huge success!
Since then I have been selling online, at craft fairs around Massachusetts, and to corporations as corporate baby gifts. All my blankies are hand sewn with loving care in the United States, with
fabric that is purchased overseas.
There really is nothing else in the market place that is made specifically for the car seat, and considered safe to use as well. That is my feeling, and I’m happy to tell you that the experts agree.
A December 2007 ConsumerReports.org article (http://blogs.consumerreports.org/baby/2007/12/baby-basics-car.html) titled "Baby basics: Car seat safety" states that "If you need to keep your baby warm, place blankets or thick coats over her after you strap her into an infant or convertible car seat. Don’t wrap your baby up in a blanket, thick coat or other bulky garment and then strap her into a restraint system. That may prevent the restraint system from working properly." Car seat safety experts really recommend warming up your car, and then placing a blanket over the baby after you've buckled him or her in for added warmth. Another article that talks about this is on About.com (http://babyproducts.about.com/od/carseats/a/carseatcoat.htm).
So being safe and warm in the car seat doesn't mean giving up being fashionable. Blankies should be fun, stylish and something mommy and baby never want to leave home without.
My Carseat Blankie is just that!
